When Fatboy finally arrives back, he confronts Rob - who shows his true colours by viciously attacking Fatboy. Horrified, Whitney orders Rob to leave and asks Fatboy to call Ryan as she wants her brother. When Ryan arrives in Southend, he goes looking for Rob and tracks him down at the pier. Whitney realises Ryan's intentions and rushes off to find him. When she does, she witnesses the climax to a dramatic fight between the two men as Ryan tries to push Rob off the pier. However, Rob doesn't let go and both men crash into the sea…

Meanwhile, Rose admits her lies to Dot before taking her off to an amusement arcade. Dot quickly realises that Rose has a habit of illegal gambling on fruit machines, but she is desperate to reach out to her sister and goes against her beliefs by helping Rose to gamble. Dot is confused as she wonders how Andrew fits into Rose's backstory and why she didn't mention him earlier. Heather is not impressed with the way Andrew speaks to his mother and soon leaves him alone.

Whitney visits the park to meet up for a date with Lee as planned, but when she gets there, she's stunned to find Rob waiting for her. Rob is soon back to his old tricks as he tries to manipulate Whitney, telling her that he's come to apologise and say goodbye as he's heading back to Manchester because his mother is dying. He also tells Whitney that he loves her - knowing that it's the best way to get her on side. However, when Whitney tries to text Lee, she receives a shock as Rob's phone beeps. Realising that she's been set up, Whitney lies to Rob by telling him that she'll go with him - before frantically trying to make her escape.

Shirley senses that Heather isn't telling her everything about their planned trip.

Meanwhile, Dot returns from a hospital visit with Fatboy and hears about Heather's planned trip to Southend with Shirley for the '80s convention. Talk between Dot and Fatboy soon turns to the list that Dot has drawn up of things she wants to do before she dies. Not wanting to have any regrets, Dot asks Fatboy to take her to Southend to see her estranged sister Rose. Shirley isn't pleased to hear that the pair will be joining them for the journey, but they soon have another tag-along on their hands as Whitney jumps in front of the car and asks to come too - without revealing what has happened with Rob.

Shirley is suspicious that Heather hasn't told her everything about the trip and her fears are confirmed when they arrive in Southend and she learns that the '80s convention is for gay couples. Unhappy that Heather has lied to her, Shirley storms off, and Heather soon faces a further setback when the event co-ordinator tells her that she can't come in alone as it's against the rules. To Heather's relief, though, Shirley later returns - not wanting to let her friend down. At the same time, Dot tracks down Rose at a social club but leaves without speaking to her.

Elsewhere in Southend, Whitney finally confides in Fatboy about the latest developments with Rob. Although Fatboy wants her to phone the police, Whitney rejects the suggestion - claiming that Rob is gone for good. However, there's trouble ahead as Rob has arrived in Southend to find her…

Kat stands by Jean in her quest to be Pearly Queen.

Elsewhere, it's the day of the charity fete on the Square and Jean is still feeling disappointed over the fact that she can't be the Pearly Queen. However, Alfie promises her that if she wants to be a Queen, she can be and he'll help her. At the same time, Pat isn't happy about being the Queen and regrets agreeing to the idea. When she turns up for the fete, she spots Jean coming out of The Vic in similar Pearly Queen clothes and is shocked by her cheek. David Essex: Big Storylines AHead.

EastEnders star David Essex has promised that there are big storylines on the way for his character Eddie Moon before he makes his departure from the soap.

As revealed when the actor first took on the role, Eddie will be leaving screens in October as Essex is going on tour with the play All the Fun of the Fair. Whether the antiques dealer will be back in Walford at a later date is currently unclear.

Speaking of his time at EastEnders, Essex told This Morning today: "It's been wonderful - really, really challenging, intimidating and it does take over your life, but I've been blessed because I've worked with wonderful actors - my boys Tony Discipline, Matt Lapinskas and Steve John Shepherd, Zöe Lucker and Lindsey Coulson, and of course Shane and Jessie.

"That was my circle that I worked with, and the level of performance from those actors and the pressure we're at, it's just incredible. All the way down from the top to the bottom, there's this kind of galvanised quality of a family under pressure! And it works - I really enjoy it."

Discussing Eddie's future, he continued: "All I can tell you is that Eddie's storylines from now until October are phenomenal. They're so powerful."

Essex said that he has embraced the air of mystery surrounding Eddie, whose past is currently being explored on screen as his son Michael does some detective work.

"I've tried to play him slightly ambiguous, with a certain darkness, so you don't quite know what he's like," he explained. "I've really enjoyed it, it was a challenge and I'm so pleased it went so well."

Meanwhile, asked whether he will return to EastEnders, Essex replied: "It's tricky. I'd like to go back, but it's time, really. And I do feel blessed that I seem to be able to work in so many different mediums."

FIRST LOOK: Mandy's Fighting Return...

It's certainly a riotous way to make a comeback, as Nicola Stapleton returns to our screens in a feisty scrap with her pimp.
The former EastEnder is heading back to Walford to reprise her role as troubled Mandy Salter, who years later is now a stripper.

Typically, an explosive storyline on the BBC1 soap shrouds her homecoming, with Nicola's first scenes involving fisticuffs.
Unlikely hero Ian Beale, played by Adam Woodyatt, saves the day as he steps outside of a strip club and notices a man fighting with a girl.

When the female shouts his name, he realises Mandy is back in town.

Jumping to her defence, he intervenes with the brawl and shouts at the pimp to leave her alone.

Overwhelmed by his response, Mandy runs over to Ian and kisses him on the cheek, but the pimp follows and lands a punch on Ian.

He tries to drag Mandy away, but the fiery blonde knees him in the groin and makes a swift getaway to Ian's car, before driving away.
The 36-year-old shot to fame back in the nineties during her stint as wayward teenager Mandy.

Nicola, who joined the programme at just 18 in 1992, dealt with heavy topics including drug abuse, homelessness and prostitution.

The actress is more recently known for playing prisoner Janine Nebeski in the seventh and eighth series of ITV prison drama Bad Girls.

SPOILER ALERT: Ian Caught OUT!

Ian Beale sinks to an all time low in EastEnders, as he tries to pick up a prostitute with a wad of ten pound notes.
Unfortunately for Beale, played by actor Adam Woodyatt, his female friend turns out to be a policewoman.
The seedy plotline follows unlucky-in-love Beale as he take his car out kerb crawling in broad daylight to go cruising for a girl.

As he arrives to a pick-up spot dotted with potential clients, he slows his vehicle down and peers out the window until he finds the right match.

Handing Money OVER....

When he starts talking to a leggy brunette, he thinks he has scored - but as soon as they exchange cash he is busted by the law enforcer and she flashes her ID leaving Beale red-faced.

Beale's history of women has hardly been a successful one, having four failed marriages behind him.

His first to Cindy Williams, played by Michelle Collins, lasted the longest at a vaguely impressive eight years.

But his latest to Jane Collins, portrayed by Laurie Brett, lasted a dismal fours years with both of them being unfaithful.

This is also not Beale's first venture into hiring women in exchange for money.

After he witnessed Jane kissing another man, he flew into a rage and hired an escort to make her jealous, claiming the woman was a long-term friend from his school days.

Woodyatt, 43, is the longest-serving character of the BBC1 soap and the only remaining original role to have appeared continuously since the first episode aired back in February 1985.
